ERASMUS POLICY STATEMENT (EPS)
Mateo Inurria School of Art and Design, Córdoba
The Mateo Inurria School of Art and Design in Córdoba is strongly committed to the internationalisation of education. In today’s global world, where art and design education is evolving rapidly, international opportunities are essential. Students benefit greatly from training placements or internships abroad, gaining access to new academic and professional experiences.
Equally important is the opportunity for teaching staff to engage internationally. Visiting other schools or delivering lessons abroad allows them to cross both mental and physical boundaries. These experiences enrich our educational community, bringing fresh knowledge and fostering cultural exchange.
As part of the Erasmus programme, our school participates in a Higher Education project (KA131-HED). This initiative supports students in Higher-Level Vocational Training, enabling them to undertake internships in companies. It also benefits students of Bachelor’s Degree in Graphic Design, who can pursue either academic studies or professional placements. Additionally, the programme provides opportunities for teachers involved in these fields.
Since its introduction nearly a decade ago, Erasmus has played a key role in modernising our institution. It has helped create a European dimension within our school, thanks to the valuable synergies generated through participants’ experiences.
Our International Relations Department is committed to maximising the opportunities offered by Erasmus, working closely with our management team. Looking ahead to the 2021-2027 phase, we have set the following objectives:
- Strengthening existing inter-institutional agreements with partner schools.
- Establishing new collaborations with institutions we are currently in contact with.
- Securing agreements with educational centres or companies that align with our students’ specialisations (illustration, graphic design, animation, photography, sculpture, etc.).
- Increasing the number of Erasmus participants from our school to other European countries, improving our communication strategies.
- Encouraging more international teachers and students to visit our institution, fostering new relationships and intercultural experiences.
- Expanding the visibility of our Erasmus programme beyond our institution by building partnerships with other schools in Córdoba and the surrounding province.
- Ensuring that all mobility activities are of high quality and have a lasting impact on participants.
- Promoting environmental awareness by valuing initiatives that contribute to sustainability and encouraging ecological transition.
- Increasing the use of digital tools in education, integrating physical mobility with virtual learning.
